WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JULY 24, 2012) - Powered by a season-high 16 strikeouts and another double-digit run output, the Dash pummeled the Carolina Mudcats 10-3 Tuesday night at BB&T Ballpark.

Winston-Salem (17-15, 61-40-1) starter Scott Snodgress (1-0) dominated in his High-A debut. The southpaw struck out a career-high 10 batters, which is also a season-best showing for a Dash hurler. Snodgress, who whiffed the final six Mudcats he faced, surrendered just one run on three hits.

Out of the bullpen, Bryan Blough allowed a pair of runs but struck out five batters. Taylor Thompson finished off the game with a scoreless ninth inning and struck out the first man he faced.

The Dash's offense thrived Tuesday, too. Winston recorded consecutive 10-plus run efforts for the second time in 2012. The club also paces the Carolina League with 15 double-digit run figures. In those games, the Dash are a perfect 15-0.

Winston-Salem jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a Michael Earley two-run double and a Mike Blanke two-run blast, his fifth long ball of the season.

Earley and Blanke once again went to work in the fourth. The former pushed home another run with a single before Blanke notched his third RBI with a fielder's choice. Earley has driven in seven runs in the last two games, while Blanke earned a season-high mark in RBI.

Winston broke it open in the fifth inning. With one out, three straight runners reached for Dan Black, who yanked a bases-clearing double down the right field line to make it 9-1. Black finished 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.

In the seventh, the Dash reached double digits when Trayce Thompson cleared the left field wall with a towering home run, his 19th on the season. Thompson leads all active Carolina League hitters in homers, and the former second-round pick is second overall in long balls on the circuit.

The Dash and Mudcats lock up in game three of this four-game series Wednesday night at 7:00. Winston-Salem sends Chris Bassitt (1-2, 3.20 ERA) to the mound for his third career professional start against fellow right-hander Danny Salazar (0-2, 3.02 ERA). Pre-game coverage on wsdash.com begins at 6:45.
