Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Tuesday, July 24, to open an eight-day, nine-game homestand against the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals affiliate) and Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers affiliate).
Highlighting the homestand's worth of promotions will be an appearance from The Famous San Diego Chicken, two fireworks shows, Corey Hart bobblehead giveaway, Paintable Ozzie bobblehead giveaway, and "Kidney Awareness Night" - a special evening for the Tennessee Kidney Foundation at the ballpark during which the Sounds will wear special green and blue jerseys on the field.
The division-rival Memphis Redbirds visit Music City for the first time in 2012 for Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. homestand opener as the Sounds and Redbirds resume the Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup series - developed in 2012 to add to the excitement to the cross-state rivalry for the two PCL teams that represent the state of Tennessee. The winner of the 16-game season series between the Sounds and Redbirds claims possession of the two-foot tall I-40 Cup until the following year. Nashville leads the 2012 season series, 6-games-to-2, with the final eight games to play at Greer Stadium.
The Sounds are celebrating Corey Hart Bobblehead Night at Greer Stadium on Tuesday night. The former Sound and two-time MLB All-Star will be immortalized in bobblehead form and available to the first 1,000 fans through the gates, presented by Principal Financial Dreams Tour. Fans can bring a receipt with proof of Tornado snack food purchase to the Sounds box office and receive two tickets for the price of one.
The Principal Financial Group is bringing an event to Tuesday's contest at Greer Stadium to celebrate America's National Pastime while showcasing free, simple, financial education tips and tools that everyone can use. This second-year event will provide fans with information they can use to put themselves on the road to a brighter financial future. The tour is part of efforts to help Americans begin to Dream Again about the kind of futures they want to create for themselves. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:05 p.m.
Wednesday night's 7:05 p.m. contest with Memphis marks the return of #WebWednesday. Sounds email newsletter subscribers and social media followers will receive the "Steal Of The Week" at Greer Stadium for Wednesday games, while fans also receive other social media ticket opportunities and ticket discounts.

Catch the crazy antics of The Famous San Diego Chicken on Taco Bell Throwback Thursday, as the most famous mascot in the world entertains fans at Greer Stadium during the Sounds' 7:05 p.m. contest against cross-state rival Memphis. The Chicken is the jester among the jerseys. He is what everyone wants him to be, prancing in a spiritual space on a creative odyssey. Or to put it simply, he plays the class clown for all those who wish they never grew up.
Sounds players will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms while fans enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2 beer, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $2 nachos. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger's Sports Bar will sell until the end of game. For Friday's 7:05 p.m. series finale with Memphis, the Sounds will be wearing green and blue jerseys in support of the Tennessee Kidney Foundation. Fans have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction during the game in order to take home a player's jersey right off his back following the contest. The auction begins when gates open at 6:05 p.m. and continues until the end of the fifth inning. All proceeds benefit the Tennessee Kidney Foundation. Postgame fireworks will follow the action on the field.
Grab your paintbrush on Saturday! The first 2,000 Sounds fans will have the unique opportunity to receive a Paintable Ozzie Bobblehead presented by PPG Porter Paints. Fans will be given paints and brushes to showcase their creativity and artistically design their bobbleheads. Special prizes will be awarded to the winners on Monday, August 20.
Saturday night's 6:35 p.m. series opener with the Isotopes is also Boy Scout Night, offering Boy Scouts an opportunity for a fun-filled evening camping right on the field - overnight at Greer Stadium (weather permitting).
