Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have signed import running back Avon Cobourne and import defensive end Shawn Crable.

Cobourne, a 5-8, 205-pound native of Camden, New Jersey, was the Tiger-Cats leading rusher last season, amassing 961 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground while catching 50 passes for 459 receiving yards. Before signing with the Ticats as a free agent in February of 2011, the West Virginia product spent five years with the Montreal Alouettes, earning two East Division All-Star nods while capturing two Grey Cup championships. Cobourne was granted his release on February 1.

Crable, a 6-5, 250-pound native of Massillon, Ohio, was a third round (78th overall) draft selection of the NFL's New England Patriots in 2008. He has also suited up with the NFL's New York Jets and UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions, in addition to his appearance at the Ticats mini-camp in April.
