Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm hockey team is hitting the streets for the summer. Storm staff will be introducing the "Street Hockey Tour" of Central Nebraska starting this Thursday, June 7 and running through August. These events will be held at a different location each week as the Storm hope to reach as many as 12-15 different communities.
The Storm Street Hockey Tour is a healthy living initiative to grow the sport of hockey among children. Storm staff will be setting up a street hockey camp across Central Nebraska for kids ages 4 to 14. All skill levels and abilities are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Storm staff will help teach, encourage and inspire kids to play hockey and have fun.
"Summer is a great time of year to connect with area youth and promote the sport of hockey in Nebraska," said Vice President of Marketing for the Storm, Kyle Means. "This is also good opportunity for parents who are looking to keep their kids active this summer and away from the TV and computer."
The Storm has teamed up with the local YMCA or other city organizations in each community to present the Street Hockey Tour. These partnerships will ensure that each event is a fun and safe way to participate in hockey.
All equipment for the Street Hockey Tour will be provided by the Storm. Each child is encouraged to wear athletic shoes, shorts and a T-shirt. No roller blades or skates will be allowed. There is no pre-registration required. Kids can voluntarily show up and enjoy the event. More dates will be added soon, visit www.StormHockey.com for the latest information.
