Spitfires Sign Patrick Sieloff

The Windsor Spitfires are excited to announce that General Manager Warren Rychel has signed 18-year-old defenceman Patrick Sieloff from the United States National Team Development Program to an OHL contract and education package.

Sieloff's rights were acquired from the Soo Greyhounds in the Jack Campbell deal that took place on November 2, 2011.

"I'm excited to join the Windsor Spitfires," said Sieloff. "For me it's the fastest route to a pro career. I'm looking forward to working with the coaches and playing with my new teammates."

"This is a huge addition to our hockey club," said Rychel. "Pat is a leader, a warrior and an excellent defensive defenceman. This is a piece of the puzzle our team desperately needed to secure. He was a force for the USDP U-18 team and I'm looking forward to him donning the Spitfires logo."

Sieloff (6'1", 200lbs) is an Ann Arbor, Michigan native who recently helped his Team USA U-18 squad claim gold medal honours in the Men's World Under-18 Championship in Czech Republic.

Patrick scored 3 goals for 10 points in 53 games including 115 PIM during his 2011-2012 campaign.

He will be attending the NHL Combine in Toronto with new teammates Ben Johnson and Brady Vail.
