
Stone up for CHL Award Tonight

Shawinigan, Quebec -- Brandon Wheat Kings captain Mark Stone has a chance to add some Canadian Hockey League hardware Saturday night as the Canadian Hockey League hosts its annual Awards Ceremony in Shawinigan, as part of this weeks MasterCard Memorial Cup festivities.
The Western Hockey"ËLeague's most sportsmanlike player is up for the CHL Most Sportsmanlike Player Award. He is up against Zach O'Brien of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Brandon Saad of the Saginaw Spirit.
Stone finished second in WHL scoring this season with 123 points and had only 22 penalty minutes. O'Brien tallied 101 points in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey"ËLeague without picking up a single penalty, while Saad had 76 points in 44 Ontario Hockey"ËLeague games and spent 38 minutes in the penalty box.
A member of the Canadian Bronze Medal winning team at the World Junior Championships, Stone also signed with the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators earlier this season and made his NHL debut during game five of the team's opening round playoff series against the New York Rangers.
Meanwhile, Killarney native Reid Gow of the Spokane Chiefs is vying for scholastic player of the year with Jonathan Brunelle of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Adam Pelech of the Erie Otters.
