Atlanta Dream Waives Four Players

ATLANTA, May 8, 2012 - The Atlanta Dream has waived guard Romina Ciappina, guard Brittany Johnson, forward Chelsea Regins and forward Aishah Sutherland.

Ciappina (Belgium), Johnson (Ohio State '11), Regins (Georgia Tech '12) and Sutherland (Kansas '12) were all training camp invitees. The roster currently stands at 13 players and must be cut down to a final 11-player roster by May 17. Forward Sancho Lyttle and center Yelena Leuchanka both reported to training camp this week after finishing overseas commitments.

Training camp practices are held daily at Philips Arena. All practices are closed to the public and open to the media for the last 30 minutes of each session. Media interested in attending should contact the Atlanta Dream's media relations department to confirm time and location.

The Dream will travel to Seattle to participate in closed scrimmages against the Chinese National Women's Basketball Team and Japanese Women's National Basketball Team on May 11-12. Regular season action tips off on May 19 as the Dream faces the Indiana Fever on the road.

The Atlanta Dream tips off its fifth season this summer at Philips Arena as part of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the world's longest-running women's professional sports league. The Dream, the defending two-time, back-to-back Eastern Conference Champion, opens its regular season home schedule on May 25 against the New York Liberty at 7:30 p.m. Single game, group and season tickets are on sale now.
