Saskatoon Blades News Release
SASKATOON - The 1980s were hockey's golden era for goals and the Saskatoon Blades brought plenty of snipers to the party.
Can you believe that the 1982-82 edition of the Blades set a WHL record by scoring six goals in just 114 seconds? With offensive talents such as Bruce Eakin, Marc Habscheid and Lane Lambert, offence was rarely a problem at the old Saskatoon Arena.
And the Blades scored high marks for toughness, too, thanks to a long line of heavyweights headlined by Wendel Clark, Kelly Chase and Joey Kocur.
So who gets your vote for Saskatoon's Team of the '80s? Leading up to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Saskatoon, the host committee is using online polls to determine franchise all-star teams for each decade dating back to the 1960s.
Everyone who casts a ballot will be entered to win game tickets to the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
The poll for Team of the '80s is now open at :

Submissions will be accepted until June 2. Voting for the Team of the Millennium (2000 to present) and Team of the '90s took place earlier this spring, and the voting schedule for teams from the '60s and '70s will be announced next fall. All five all-star teams will be unveiled during the 2012-13 WHL season.
There is one way into the action - 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup packages are currently available to season ticket holders of the Saskatoon Blades. Become a Blades' season ticket holder and keep your seat for the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup!
Eight-game Memorial Cup packages start at $95 plus applicable taxes and fees. For more information on becoming a season ticket holder and to secure your seat, call 975-8844 or visit saskatoonblades.com.
