OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce they have tendered forward Ryan Tait for the 2012-2013 season. The Santa Clarita, California native, who turns 16 years old in June, is currently playing at Shattuck-St. Mary's prep school in Faribault, Minnesota and will join the Lancers next season.

"Ryan is a special hockey player," Associate Head Coach Michael Zucker said. "He's incredibly skilled and already plays at a pace very few players in our league can match. His hockey sense is off the charts and we anticipate him being an impact player for us next season."

In 54 games this past season with Shattuck's Under-16 team, Tait led the team with 63 points and 37 assists. The 5'9", 160-pound forward finished third on Shattuck's U16 roster with 26 goals and finished with the second fewest penalty minutes (10) on the team.

Omaha returns to action Friday evening when the team travels to the Young in Arena in Waterloo for Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The best-of-five series between the Lancers and Black Hawks is currently tied 1-1. Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
