Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa- After the Waterloo Black Hawks and Omaha Lancers split the first two games of their second round playoff series over the weekend, the Rydell Chevrolet Drive to the Cup continues Friday and Saturday at Young Arena.
The team is encouraging hockey fans across the Cedar Valley to show their support on "Black Hawks Friday." In preparation for Game Three Friday night, wear a Black Hawks jersey of t-shirt to work or class. For those who need to stay within office or school dress code guidelines, support the Hawks by wearing red. In conjunction with Black Hawks Friday, Party Town Outfitters, the official souvenir store of the team, is currently offering special pricing on jerseys and apparel.
"Black Hawks fans have helped the team win eleven consecutive home games. The players know they've got the support of the entire Cedar Valley as they get ready for two of the most important games in the last several years," said team president Doug Miller.
The Black Hawks and Lancers each earned wins as the series began in Omaha. The best-of-five set could be settled Saturday evening if either club is able to win both contests at Young Arena. Should these games be split again, a decisive Game Five is slated for Omaha on Sunday evening. The winner of the Hawks-Lancers series will meet either the Lincoln Stars or Fargo Force in the Western Conference finals. Lincoln and Fargo also split their first two games last weekend.
Tickets for Game Three and Game Four are available now from waterlooblackhawks.com. Many good seats still remain. The Black Hawks Box Office will be open for phone and in-person orders beginning Wednesday morning at 11:30 AM. For more information, call (319) 291-7680.
