
Trocheck Signs with Florida Panthers

The Saginaw Spirit announce today that forward Vince Trocheck has become the second member of the team to ink an NHL entry level contract in the past week. The Pittsburgh native has come to terms on a three year entry level contract with the Florida Panthers, joining former Saginaw forward Josh Shalla, as recently signed players with ties to the Spirit organization. As per NHL team rules, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Trocheck was selected by the Panthers in the third round, of the 2011 NHL Draft selected overall. This past season Trocheck led the Spirit in points on the strength of 29 goals and 56 assists for 85 points in 65 games played. He added 11 points in 12 playoff games, and with 190 career points he is now sixth in the Spirit's franchise all time scoring list.
As far as the OHL rankings are concerned, Trocheck placed 12th in league scoring, and was second in assists to Sarnia's Charlie Sarault.
