Saginaw Falls to London in OT 2-1

On Friday night, the Saginaw Spirit were defeated by the London Knights by the score of 2-1 in overtime. Jake Paterson was stellar in goal for the Spirit making 46 saves in the loss. Brandon Archibald scored the lone goal of the game for Saginaw.

London got on the board early when Seth Griffith deflected a shot past Jake Paterson to give the Knights a 1-0 lead over the Spirit. Tommy Hughes and Vladislav Namestinkov assisted the goal.

The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Knights until 3:36 into the third period. Brandon Archibald took a slap shot from the blue line off a faceoff and beat Michael Houser to tie the game at 1-1. Justin Kea and Brad Walch were credited with the assists on the goal. Late in the period Jake Paterson turned away several London Knight chances, keeping the score tied and forcing overtime.

The game was decided just 4:58 into overtime when Vladislav Namestinkov would get his own rebound and score the game winning goal for the Knights. London takes a 3-2 series lead with the 2-1 victory over Saginaw.
