
Hogs Can't Top Lake Erie in Week 27

Both games in Week 27 ended with one-goal differences, but unfortunately the Rockford IceHogs couldn't overcome the Lake Erie Monsters in either contest. The Hogs finished their 2011-12 road schedule in Week 27 and conclude the regular season with three games at the BMO Harris Bank Center against the Charlotte Checkers and Milwaukee Admirals in Week 28.

Rockford finished their 2011-12 road schedule with a 17-16-2-3 record, the fifth straight season that the IceHogs finished their road slate .500 or better
The IceHogs will close out their 13th season of professional hockey in Rockford, including fifth as the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, with three home games
Phillip Danault registered his first career point on Saturday with an assist at Lake Erie
After getting swept in their four-game season series against Lake Erie, Rockford went 3-7-1-1 against the AHL's North Division this season
The IceHogs were 3-0-0-1 against Grand Rapids and a combined 0-7-1-0 against Lake Erie, Hamilton and Toronto
Rockford coughed up a three-goal lead on Saturday and lost for just the fourth time this season in regulation (23-4-0-2) when leading after the second period
The IceHogs have played 39 one-goal games this season (20-11-2-6), including their last six contest
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, center Brandon Pirri leads all Rockford skaters in points (53), goals (23-tied with Peter LeBlanc), assists (31), multi-point games (16) and plus/minus (+10)
Peter LeBlanc scored his 23rd goal of the season on Saturday, 11 more than he had during his rookie campaign in 2010-11
Winger Wade Brookbank has 1g-4a-5pts in 14 games with Rockford this season
Before this year, Brookbank registered five or more points in a season twice in his last eight campaigns going back to 2002-03
Rockford has scored 202 goals this season and needs 14 to tie the modern day team record for fewest goals in a season (216; 2010-11)
Hot Hog: Week 27:
Jeremy Morin, Left Wing
Winger Jeremy Morin registered a point in each of Rockford's games during Week 27. On Friday, Morin helped set up Rockford's lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Lake Erie. Then on Saturday, the second-year winger notched a goal as the IceHogs fell 4-3 to the Monsters. In 66 games this season, Morin has 17g-21a-38pts with the IceHogs.
Upcoming Games:
Tuesday, April 10 vs. Charlotte Checkers. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Checkers are in town for the fifth of six matchups between the Midwest Division rivals on the campaign. It's also the last Taco Bell Dollar Day presented by WXRX at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Fans can get hot dogs, beers, sodas and companion tickets for just one dollar a piece.
Friday, April 13 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Midwest Division rivals Rockford and Milwaukee faceoff for the 12th and final time this season and for the sixth matchup at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive an IceHogs team photo courtesy of the Rockford Register Star.
Saturday, April 14 vs. Charlotte Checkers. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs conclude the 2011-12 regular season against the Checkers. It is the sixth meeting between the division rivals. Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 5,000 fans through the doors will receive an IceHogs team photo sponsored by the Rockford Register Star, plus all fans will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. After each whistle, the IceHogs will give away gift certificates and speical offers from local businesses. In addition, fans will have the chance to win a jersey off the back of a current IceHogs skater following Saturday's game.
Final Bud Light Hog Talk Takes Place Tonight:
Bud Light Hog Talk makes its final appearance for the 2011-12 season at Granite City Food and Brewery tonight as Mike Peck hosts IceHogs assistant coach Steve Poapst, rookie forward Phillip Danault and rookie goaltender Kent Simpson. Granite City is located at 7140 Harrison Ave. next to CherryVale Mall. Stop by to take advantage of food and Bud Light specials. If you can't make it to Granite City, tune into 100.5 NTA FM or 1330 AM WNTA.

Rockford, Ill.- Bud Light Hog Talk returns to Granite City Food and Brewery in Rockford tonight for its final episode of 2011-12. The show runs from 6-7 p.m. and Granite City is located at 7140 Harrison Ave. next to CherryVale Mall.
Tonight's show features IceHogs assistant coach Steve Poapst, along with forward Phillip Danault and goalie Kent Simpson as the guests. Mike Peck will host the finale and he'll recap last week's action, preview the week ahead and chat some non-things hockey with his guests.
