Gagne opened the scoring for the Sea Dogs after an early penalty kill. Phillips took the puck towards the corner and fired a pass out front. The pass deflected off a Baie-Comeau stick to Gagne who fired a shot past Cadorette at 2:48 for his second goal of the playoffs.

Cadorette showed why the Drakkar have so much faith in the young netminder, who was celebrating his 17th birthday. Cadorette made what might have been the save of the year, robbing Coyle blind on the doorstep by reaching across with his stick to stop his one-timer at the goal line.

Seconds later, Roussel extended the lead at 9:48 of the opening frame on a Sea Dogs power play. Nathan Beaulieu took a shot from the point and Coyle fired the rebound onto Cadorette's pad where Roussel cleaned up the garbage with a backhand over the right pad of Cadorette for his second goal of the post-season.

Jurco tipped a Galiev shot past Cadorette at 1:20 of the second to extend the lead to 3-0. Another power play for the Dogs allowed Gagne to spot the wide-open Russian sniper who shot for the top right corner, with Jurco marking the tip to get the puck over Cadorette's shoulder. Gagne had the other assist on the play.

Jurco gave the Dogs a four-goal lead at 5:09 of the second with an excellent show of hand-eye co-ordination on the tip of a Roussel point blast. Ryan Tesink gets an honourary assist with a play down low with a big hit to give Roussel the puck and set up Jurco's sixth of the playoffs.

Another Roussel shot found the back of the net at 6:20 for the third Saint John power-play marker of the game. This time, Huberdeau made the tip on the point shot for his first of the series and third of the playoffs. Beaulieu fed Roussel on the initial shot for the second assist.

Galiev scored a goal of his own at 9:54 of the middle frame after a beautiful feed to make it 6-0. Coyle sent the Russian sniper streaming into the slot, while Phillips collected the other assist.

Lessard broke the goose egg on the board for Drakkar at 10:40. Cadorette gave way to Appleby in the Drakkar net during the stoppage.

Phillips nabbed his third goal of the series on a tic-tac-toe play with Roussel and Coyle at 12:41, giving Roussel his fourth point of the night.

On the ensuing faceoff, Grant West dropped Samuel Noreau with a two-punch knockdown. Three seconds later Ian Saab brought Harbour Station to its feet with a one-punch KO of Gabriel Verpaelst.

Phillips continued the scoring spree at 1:28 of the third, skating out from the left-wing corner and roofing his second of the game and sixth of the playoffs.

Rose gave the Drakkar their second of the game at 5:14 of the third to make it 8-2.

Corbeil made a flurry of saves at 10:52 in the midst of a Baie-Comeau 5-on-3 power play, laying out on the goal line to keep the puck out.

Galiev scored his second of the game at 13:33 of the third on a 2-on-1 in the Baie-Comeau zone with Phillips making the pass to start the play, earning his third assist and fifth point on the night, tying the team record for points in a playoff game.

Gauthier finished off the scoring with his seventh of the playoffs at 19:02 with assists going to Stephen MacAulay and Aidan Kelly.

The Sea Dogs continue their playoff trek with Game 3 going Tuesday and Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday, both in Baie-Comeau. Fans can catch all of the away action on the TELUS QMJHL webcast and Tim Roszell will have the call on News 88.9 FM .
