Esmailin Caridad Added to I-Cubs Roster

Des Moines, IA - Right-hander Esmailin Caridad has been added to the Iowa Cubs active roster and will be available for tonight's game against the Round Rock Express.
Caridad began last season with Iowa and was 3-2 with an 8.27 ERA and four saves in 26 games before being transferred to double-A Tennessee on June 23. After five appearances with the Smokies, Caridad went on the disabled list with a right forearm strain and missed the rest of the season. Caridad was a non-roster invitee to Cubs' spring training and had no record and a 1.80 ERA in five major league games.
