Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - Over 250 volunteers from local non-profit organizations and volunteer groups received tickets to Cougars games in the 2011/2012 season, thanks to the CN Community Ticket Program. After nine seasons the program continues to reward those individuals and organizations that work to promote a safer and healthier Prince George.
"We are so appreciative of CN's ongoing support for the Community Ticket Program," said Cougars Vice President, Brandi Brodsky. "This season we chose to put an emphasis on rewarding local organizations that paid particular attention to improving the lives of children and youth in our community. With so many worthy groups in Prince George, including Girl Guides of Canada, Prince George Native Friendship Centre and Youth Around Prince, we surpassed the number of tickets allotted through this program and were happy to provide extra tickets so that additional volunteers could come out and enjoy a Cougars game."
CN's General Manager for the Mountain Region, Doug Ryhorchuk, said: "As an engaged corporate citizen, CN is committed to working closely with a wide range of organizations that help improve the quality of life of the communities in which we operate. CN's Community Ticket Program helps enable those who might otherwise not have the means to attend Cougars' games."
In addition, tickets were also allocated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George, Canadian Blood Services, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Red Cross, Community Policing Prince George, Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Salvation Army and YMCA.
