Abbotsford Heat News Release

Houston, TX - The Abbotsford Heat continue their battle for a playoff berth in Texas tonight as they face the Houston Aeros for the finale of their eight-game season series. Both the Heat and the Aeros won on Friday night and are tied with 72 points in the Western Conference with the Aeros ahead by virtue of a tie-break.

The Heat sit in sixth in the Western Conference with 72 points after Friday's results. The Heat are tied with the fourth place Charlotte Checkers and the fifth place Houston Aeros who also have 72 points but have played fewer games. The Chicago Wolves and Lake Erie Monsters each sit one point behind the Heat in seventh and eighth spot while the San Antonio Rampage now are two back of the Heat and out of the playoff picture with 70 points.

The Heat and Aeros met on Tuesday at the Toyota Center where the Heat fell in an early hole, and couldn't seem to muster a comeback, though Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond scored his first of the season while short-handed. The road-trip opening loss was the first regulation set-back suffered at the hands of the Aeros through seven meetings of the eight-game season series that had seen the Heat win five games and lose in a shootout in six prior tilts.

Tonight's game begins at 5:30 PDT and can be heard in its entirety on Country107.1 beginning with the 5:15 pre-game show. The game can be also heard on Country 107.1's website, and on the Rogers Radio App for your wireless device as well as by clicking on theAHL.com.
