
Otters Blown Away by Storm, 5-3

Guelph, ON - The Guelph Storm scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Erie Otters, 5-3, Wednesday night at Sleeman Centre.
Francis Menard scored 2:49 into the game to put the Storm on the board. The Otters answered back just under four minutes later as Johnny McGuire's centering pass bounced off of a Guelph defender and into the net at 6:47 for his second goal of the season.
The red-hot Jake Evans put the Otters in front with 38.6 seconds with his fifth goal in his last six games. Evans moved into the slot and ripped a shot through the blocker of Brandon Foote for his 12th goal of the season.
Dane Fox made it 3-1 after stripping Andrey Pedan at the red line to start a two-on-one. Fox blasted a shot over the left shoulder of Foote for his 23rd goal of the season at 9:48 of the second period. Tanner Richard scored late in the period to put the Storm within one.
The third period was all Storm, as Zack Mitchell tied the game 3:07 into the frame. Menard scored his second of the game with just over seven minutes left for the game-winner, and Richard added his second of the game for insurance with 4:46 to go.
The Otters play their final road game of the season Friday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Kitchener Rangers. Listen to all the action on Fox Sports Radio AM 1330 The Fan.
Fan Appreciation Night is Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The Otters celebrate St. Patrick's Day with special jerseys and green ice as Greg McKegg and the London Knights come into town.
