BAKERSFIELD, March 10, 2012 - Bakersfield's backcourt of Jeremy Wise and Derrick Byars combined for 40 points (20 each) to help elevate the Bakersfield Jam (22-17) over the Idaho Stampede (16-24) by a final score of 111-95.
Wise scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half and helped the Jam take a seven point lead at halftime (49-42). Bakersfield took over in the second half as they opened up a 15 point lead in the third (75-60), behind Byars' 13 point performance in the third period alone. Idaho made it interesting to begin the fourth as they cut down the Jam's lead to just five points (80-75) but Bakersfield fired back with a 7-0 run and took complete control from there to seal the victory.
Los Angeles Clippers assignee Travis Leslie had his best performance with the Jam scoring 19 points off the bench on 9-of-12 shooting. Brian Butch finished the night with 16 points and nine rebounds while Juan Pattillo contributed 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Jordan Brady led Idaho in scoring with 16 points. Mikki Moore, Seth Traver, and Marcus Banks contributed 12 points each.
Up next, the Jam stays home to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on March 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. PT.
