Jared Staal Loaned to P-Bruins

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 20th season in the American Hockey League, today announced that the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) have loaned forward Jared Staal to the P-Bruins.

Staal, of Thunder Bay, ON, has skated in 37 games for the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) this season, recording 3-36 totals.

Originally selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in 49th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry, Staal made his professional debut in 2009 with the San Antonio Rampage. Prior to turning pro, Staal played three seasons with the Sudbury Wolves (OHL), reaching the finals in 2006-07 before falling to the Plymouth Whalers.

The 6'4", 214-pound right wing, split last season between Charlotte and Florida (ECHL). In 33 games with the Everblades, Staal tallied six goals and added five assists.

The P-Bruins open next weekend at The Dunk versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday . The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. for Travel First Aid Kit Night, courtesy of Starr EMS . First Aid Kits are free to the first 2,000 fans. The team is on the road the rest of the weekend. The club visits Route 146 rival, the Worcester Sharks, on Saturday, before traveling north to Portland on Sunday to close out the weekend.
