Louisiana IceGators News Release
Lafayette, Louisiana--The Louisiana IceGators announced trades today at the Southern Professional Hockey League deadline. Defenseman Tobias Carlsson was sent to the Mississippi RiverKings for center Mike Tuomi. Louisiana also dealt forward Alex Morton to Huntsville for future considerations. In addition, the IceGators acquired defenseman Sean Cryer from Fayetteville in consideration of a trade earlier this season that sent Tanner Hlookoff to the FireAntz.
Mike is going to give us some character, said IceGators head coach Kevin Kaminski. He has great speed, a wicked shot, and he plays with an edge and can punish guys with his checks. Kaminski also spoke highly of Cryer. Sean is a very solid defenseman, he said. He s a great skater. He moves the puck well and makes tape-to-tape passes. He s an older guy that will give us depth. He has a +3 rating on a bad team, which shows he cares and has a great work ethic.
These new IceGators will make their debuts Thursday night when the IceGators host the Knoxville IceBears in the Cajundome. Game time is set for 7:05 P. M.
