Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX FEB. 24, 2012 - The Texas Legends are proud to announce that Chris Roberts has been selected to participate in the NBA Development League Dream Factory Dunk Contest presented by Haier on Saturday February 25th.
"Chris absolutely soars to the basket," said Legends Owner Donnie Nelson. "He's a great defender, he can shoot from outside, and he's a remarkable athlete. Chris is one of the guys you always keep your eyes on during a game, because you never know when he'll get a steal for a breakaway jam."
Roberts will join Zachary Andrews of the Los Angeles D-Fenders, Osiris Eldridge of the Bakersfield Jam, and L.D. Williams of the Springfield Armor.
The two-round competition allows for each player to complete two dunks in Round One, with four judges each awarding between six and 10 points for every made dunk. The two players with the highest composite scores after Round One move on to Round Two. The player with the highest composite score of the two possible dunks in Round Two is crowned the champion.
The Dream Factory Dunk Contest will take place at halftime of the NBA D-League All-Star Game and will be broadcast live on NBATV beginning at 2:00PM EST.
