(EVANSVILLE, Indiana) - Three Evansville Otters have been selected to play in the first ever Independent League Prospect Tournament this upcoming weekend. Outfielder Alex Foltz, catcher Brett Chamberlain and pitcher Dan Marcacci will all be representing the Evansville Otters in the 10 day tournament starting on February 24.

The event will be held in St. Petersburg, Florida at Al Lang Field, and will feature four teams, one for each of the independent baseball leagues (American Association, Can-Am, Frontier, and North American).

"It is a great opportunity for Alex, Brett, and Dan to represent the Frontier League and Evansville in this unique tournament," said Otters manager ndy McCauley. "I think it is a good way to showcase Indy baseball and I know it will be scouted."

Director of Player Personnel, Kevin Cope, also views this as a great experience for the players to get noticed.

"Anytime a player gets to show their abilities in front of scouts for major league teams is a terrific opportunity for the player," Cope said. "This will be a positive experience for them."

The players are greatly looking forward to the beginning of the tournament too.

"I am happy to be representing the Otters with my teammates," said Dan Marcacci. "This is a great opportunity for us."
