
Whitecaps FC Announce 2012 MLS Reserve League Schedule

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC, in conjunction with Major League Soccer, announced today the schedule for the 2012 MLS Reserve League season. Whitecaps FC reserves will again play in the Western conference, beginning their season away to LA Galaxy on Monday, March 19.
Whitecaps FC reserves will play 10 matches in MLS Reserve League play, facing each of their Western conference opponents twice, once home and once away. The "ËCaps will play four home matches at the University of British Columbia's Thunderbird Stadium, and one home match at Burnaby's Swangard Stadium.
The 'Caps reserves open their home schedule on Monday, March 26, against Seattle Sounders FC at Thunderbird Stadium. Additional home matches are set for Sunday, April 22, versus Portland Timbers at Swangard Stadium, followed by three matches at Thunderbird Stadium: Tuesday, June 12, against LA Galaxy; Monday, July 23 against Chivas USA; and Monday, September 10 against San Jose Earthquakes. Kickoff will be 11 a.m. PT for matches at Thunderbird Stadium, and 3 p.m. PT for the April 22 match at Swangard Stadium.
Teams may at their discretion schedule additional exhibition matches for their reserve squads against non-MLS opponents.
The MLS Reserve League will again be divided into Eastern, Central, and Western conferences with each team playing all matches within their conference. The club list for each conference can be found below.
At the conclusion of the Reserve League season the team with the most points out of all three conferences will be determined the Reserve League Champion. As in Major League Soccer, three points is awarded for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a loss.

Central: Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, Real Salt Lake
Western: Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps FC
