
WSSU Baseball Returns to BB&T Ballpark

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (FEBRUARY 9, 2012) - The Winston-Salem Dash have once again partnered with Winston-Salem State University for the Rams to play some of their regular season home games at BB&T Ballpark. WSSU begins its home schedule this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders this weekend against Millersville University.
On both Saturday and Sunday, the Rams and Marauders will square off in doubleheaders that start at 1 p.m. The main gates at BB&T Ballpark will open to the general public at 12 noon and concession stands will be open to fans. General admission tickets for each doubleheader will cost $8 and WSSU students will be granted free admission with a valid student ID. Additional future games at BB&T Ballpark would be announced at a later date.
Last year, WSSU revived its baseball program for the first time in 38 years and played eight games at BB&T Ballpark. The Rams went 31-24 in 2011 and won the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship, earning a bid in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament.
The 2012 Winston-Salem Dash regular season begins on April 6, 2012 at the Carolina Mudcats. The Dash open their home schedule on April 13 when the Mudcats make their first visit to BB&T Ballpark.
