Lancers F Max Vallis Commits to Michigan Tech

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that forward Max Vallis has committed to Michigan Tech University and will join the Huskies in the Fall of 2012. A native of Santa Clara, California, Vallis is in his first season with the Lancers and enters the weekend ranked sixth among all Omaha skaters in scoring this season with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists). Vallis' 11 goals ranks fourth on the team and he has twice this season tallied three goals in a single game. For his efforts, Vallis was named co-CCM Offensive Player of the Week following Week 16 of the USHL season after tallying four goals, an assist and a +5 rating in a pair of games.

The 5'9", 170 pound forward spent last season with the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) where he registered 38 points (22 goals, 16 assists) in 59 games. Vallis was selected 221st overall (Round 15) by Omaha in the 2011 USHL Entry Draft.

Three other players currently on USHL rosters are already committed to Michigan Tech including G Pheonix Copley (DM), F C.J. Eick (GB), and F Tyler Heinonen (MUS). Vallis also joins former Lancers forward Reid Sturos who is currently committed to Michigan Tech as well.

Omaha (24-12-3, 51 pts.) returns to action Friday evening when the Lancers return home to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for a rematch with the Lincoln Stars. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
