
Whitecaps FC Announce Date Change for Portland Timbers Match

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Portland Timbers announced today that their Major League Soccer (MLS) regular-season match-up at BC Place in Vancouver, BC, on October 20 has been changed to Sunday, October 21, at 4 p.m. PT - due to a conflict with the BC Lions' Canadian Football League (CFL) schedule. Portland and Vancouver will face each other three times in the 2012 regular season. The other two meetings will take place at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, May 26, and Saturday, August 25.
Whitecaps FC open their second MLS season at home on Saturday, March 10, as they play host to Canadian rivals and 2012 expansion side Montreal Impact at BC Place. Kickoff for the season opener is set for 3 p.m. PT.
