Omaha, Neb. - The Sioux City Musketeers scored twice in the third period in rattling off a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Omaha Lancers Friday evening in front of 2,256 fans at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The loss snapped Omaha's five-game winning streak overall and the team's five-game home winning stretch. Following the setback, the Lancers moved to 20-11-2 on the year and maintain a share atop the Western Conference alongside the Lincoln Stars. Meanwhile, the victory snapped a five-game losing skid overall for Sioux City and a seven-game road losing stretch for the Musketeers.

Sioux City opened the scoring just prior to the midway point of the first period when Dan Molenaar fired a right point shot that redirected off an Omaha skater in the slot before slipping between the pads of Lancers goaltender Thatcher Demko. Cliff Watson and Cody Marooney assisted on the even strength goal notched 9:42 into period one. Molenaar's second goal of the season marked the 17th time in 33 games this season that Omaha has surrendered the game's first tally.

Omaha evened the game 6:44 into the second period when, while on the power play, Ken Babinski won a battle for a loose puck at the side of the Sioux City goal before depositing his seventh goal of the season. Victor Newell and Kevin Schulze assisted on the man-advantage tally, which marked the fifth straight game in which the Lancers have registered a power play goal. Omaha then claimed the lead just past the midway point of period two when a right point shot on the power play by Nolan Zajac produced a rebound off Musketeers goaltender Matt Skoff which was promptly swatted in by Casey Bailey. Kenney Morrison earned the secondary assist on Bailey's team-leading 17th goal of the season.

The Musketeers evened the game just prior to the midway point of the third period when, while on the power play, David Goodwin pounced on a loose puck at the side of the net before depositing his 16th goal of the season. Molenaar earned the only assist on the man-advantage marker scored 9:11 into period three. Sioux City then regained the lead and claimed the lead for good 15:24 into the final period of regulation when Josh Erickson was able to get wide on the right wing before sending his third goal of the season just inside the right post. Marooney and Noah Nelson assisted on the even strength goal scored 15:24 into the third period.

Skoff earned the victory in goal for the Musketeers after 27 saves on 29 Lancers shots. The win snapped a personal six-game losing skid for Skoff who improved to 11-15 on the year. Meanwhile, Demko suffered the setback for the Lancers despite 30 saves on 33 Sioux City shots. Demko is now 4-2 on the year.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow evening when they welcome the Lincoln Stars to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for a 7:05 PM showdown.
