
Busy Promotional Weekend Lies Ahead for B-Sens Fans

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today back-to-back promotional nights as they host the Syracuse Crunch and Hershey Bears this coming weekend.
Friday, Jan. 13 as the B-Sens host the Syracuse Crunch the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a hockey stick keychain courtesy of Elmira Business Institute.
Saturday, Jan. 14 is STAR WARS Night as the B-Sens host the Hershey Bears. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with movie authentic characters including Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers. Darth Vader will even part take in a ceremonial puck drop.
Members of Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion will be selling lightsabers at the game for $5. Proceeds from the lightsaber sales will benefit a Room to Heal. The local organization, with the help of over 200 volunteers, has provided healing environments in the homes of 40 children suffering from a critical illness.
Also Saturday, the B-Sens will be wearing their 2011-12 preseason jerseys featuring the "Flying B" logo on the crest.
The jerseys, which will also feature a commemorative Broome Sports Foundation patch, will be auctioned off post-game to benefit the Broome Sports Foundation. The Broome Sports Foundation is a charitable arm of the Binghamton Senators. All money raised in the jersey auction will help fund the foundation's Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund which is awarded to graduating senior athletes throughout the Southern Tier to help them further their education.
At both games students from the Maine-Endwell school district will be on hand collecting spare change and non-perishable food items to help provide for their MEals Program, a food pantry program that assists underprivileged students in the Maine-Endwell school district. The Meals Program is in need of the following non-perishable food items: canned fruit, veggies and soups, cereal, boxed items (potatoes, stuffing, Hamburger Helper, etc.), rice, pasta and sauce.
It is also a Weis Weekend. Fans who present their Weis Preferred Shoppers Club Card in person at the Binghamton Senators' executive office or the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office will receive a $2.50 discount off regular prices adult tickets for both games.
