
Chris Bruton Signs PTO with Peoria

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Wednesday that the club has signed forward Chris Bruton from the Rivermen ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces.
Bruton, 21, has recorded five goals, six assists and 58 penalty minutes while appearing in all 24 games with the Aces this season. He attended training camp with the Rivermen and played in both preseason games, recording five penalty minutes.
Last season, he finished his collegiate career at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He had 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 19 games and finished his three seasons at Acadia with 74 points (34 goals, 40 assists).
Prior to attending college, Bruton played four seasons with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL). During his final season with Spokane (2007-08), the Chiefs won the WHL and the Memorial Cup. He served as the team's captain and put up his best offensive numbers with 26 goals, 37 assists and 63 points to go along with a plus-33 rating and 99 penalty minutes. He contributed another 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 21 playoff games.
Bruton is expected to join the Rivermen for their games this weekend as Peoria travels to Rockford for a game on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
