Tulsa Wins Grudge Match

December 9, 2011 - NBA G League (G League) - Dakota Wizards News Release

Bismarck, N.D. (Dec. 9, 2011) - A fourth quarter rally by the visiting Tulsa 66ers proved to be too much for Dakota as the Wizards fell 88-98 on Friday night. The Wizards were outscored 35-23 in the final frame behind 15 fourth quarter points by Tulsa's Brady Morningstar. Morningstar led the way for the 66ers finishing with a game high 29 points. LaDustin Williams followed with 21 points.

Edwin Ubiles started off the game hot for the Wizards scoring 14 of Dakota's 22 first quarter points. Tulsa built a 7 point lead early in the second quarter but Dakota was able to use a balanced attack to chip away at the 66ers lead and head into the locker room with a 44-40 lead.

Dakota pushed their lead to 11 early in the third quarter behind back-to-back three pointers from Ubiles and Shy Ely but Tulsa weathered the storm and finished the quarter on a 22-12 run to cut Dakota's lead to 2 heading into the fourth. Tulsa would hold their ground in the fourth and capitalize on a couple Wizards technical fouls to put the game out of reach and come away with the victory.

Tulsa ruled the offensive glass grabbing 22 offensive rebounds to Dakota's 11 which proved to be the difference in the game.

Edwin Ubiles lead the way for the Wizards recording a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds while Mike Anderson recorded a double-double of his own with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Shy Ely chipped in 22 points.
