Jam Quiets Stampede

BAKERSFIELD, December 8, 2011 - The Bakersfield Jam (4-1) defeated the Idaho Stampede (1-4) by a score of 100-87 Thursday night. David Palmer started at center and finished with a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Idaho led for the majority of the first half, building their biggest lead of the night (10 points) in the second quarter. The Jam rallied back and took the lead on a Renaldo Major reverse lay-up with 8 seconds left in the second period, giving Bakersfield a 53-51 lead at the half. The Jam build on that momentum, outscoring Idaho 25-16 in the third quarter while shooting 52.6% compared to the opponent's 29.2%, never trailing in the second half of the game.

Bakersfield was led in scoring for the second straight game by Adrian Thomas with 18 points off the bench. Anthony Harris provided the Jam with a spark off the bench scoring 15 points on 7-for-10 field goal shooting. Renaldo Major contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds on the evening.

The Stampede had three players in double-figures with Willie Jenkins leading the way with 23 points, 13 coming in the first quarter. Mildon Ambres had 13 points on the night and Reginald Larry added 12. Three-time NBA All-Star Antoine Walker, in his first game back with the Idaho Stampede this season, finished the game with 7 points and 5 rebounds.

The Bakersfield Jam will host the Texas Legends this upcoming Saturday at the Jam Events Center at 7 p.m. PT.
