FLORHAM PARK, NJ--(December 5, 2011)-The Goldklang Group, a sports entertainment ownership and consulting firm, today announced that Tyler Tumminia has assumed the role of Senior Vice President. Formerly Vice President of Marketing and Operations, Tumminia's new role will focus on strategic development of the brand with a more targeted external footprint.
Jeff Goldklang, Managing Director of the Group, added: "Tyler has proven herself as one of the most dynamic and inventive executives within our industry. Her leadership has spawned success at all levels of our operations, and her reach extends far past our stable of clubs. As we move towards the next phase of our Group's development, Tyler is well positioned to lead the charge."
In addition to her new responsibilities, Tumminia will increase to a full-scale operational oversight of the ownership Group's four clubs. Aligned with these goals, she will coordinate efforts to expand the Group's activities on a global platform.
"My first priority is to make sure our efforts are completely united with our business priorities and that marketing is enabling those priorities by supporting our growth strategy," said Tumminia. "By assuming this new position, I will be able to focus my time and energy on executing operational strategies related to initiatives in our family of ballclubs as well as the ownership group."
Tumminia developed the Group's award winning marketing philosophy, Be Your Own Fan, in response to current market trends and industry analysis. In addition, she is responsible for the largest group-wide partnership with a major brand and the largest singular themed promotional event in the Group's history. Her development of the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame has received tremendous recognition throughout the industry, and has been hailed as a game-changer in how scouts are perceived at the local levels.
Tumminia is a sought after speaker on the campuses of elite colleges and universities, educating students on various topics relating to the business of sports. She is a recipient of the Roland Hemond, MASA and Marcom awards for excellence in her field, and in 2011 was named Executive of the Year by NYU's sports management program. In the fall of 2011, she successfully completed MLB Scout School in Arizona.
