DES MOINES, IA, Nov. 29, 2011- The 2011 NBA D-League Champion Iowa Energy will see a familiar face the next two days as they head to McAllen, Texas for a pair of games against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and former Energy Head Coach Nick Nurse.
Wednesday's game will be held at 10:30 AM Central as the Vipers will host a kids day game. The following night, the same two squads will play at 7:00 PM. Both games can be viewed online at www.d-league.com using the free Futurecast online streaming platform.
Iowa split a pair of road games last weekend, defeating Canton 100-82 on national television before falling at Sioux Falls the next night by a score of 105-117. Energy center Jarrid Famous leads the team in points per game (20.5) and rebounds per game (11.5) thus far.
The Vipers opened up the season with a pair of home wins, both against the Erie BayHawks.
The two teams met for the NBA D-League Championship last season. The Energy prevailed in the three game series, bringing the franchise their first ever championship. Rio Grande Valley won the 2010 NBA D-League Championship, meaning the matchup this week will feature the past two league champions.
The Energy return to Des Moines for the home opener on Saturday, December 3rd. Tickets for all regular season games are now on sale at www.DahlsTickets.com.
Season tickets for the Energy's 24 games home schedule are also available. For more information, visit www.IowaNBA.com. Season tickets start at just $199 per seat, and include a number of special benefits.
