'Be True' Returns: Winners Announced

BOISE, Idaho, October 17, 2011 - The Idaho Stampede, along with Commercial Tire, Cooper Tires and the Idaho Steelheads, have named Michelle Dodds (Rocky Mountain High School volleyball coach) and Jeff Rhode (Nampa High School basketball coach) as the week's "Be True to Your School" award winners. Coach Dodds will be honored on-court at the Stampede game on November 26, while Rhode will be honored on December 2.

Below are excerpts from their nominations.

"Michelle Dodds is a great example of what our daughters can achieve with hard work. She is an excellent communicator with her players and parents - she is an excellent role model."

"Jeff Rhode deserves to win because he gives everyone a positive outlook on life and focuses on games week by week and puts the past in the past, while looking forward to upcoming games."

The "Be True to Your School" program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recognition. The winning coaches will be invited to a game at CenturyLink Arena to be honored and the athletics department at the winner's school will receive a $1,000 from Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires. In all, $20,000 will be donated to area schools during 2011-12.
