CornBelters Unveil 2012 Schedule

October 13, 2011 - Frontier League (FL) Normal CornBelters

Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, are proud to announce the official release of their 2012 schedule. The CornBelters will play their first game of the 2012 campaign at the Corn Crib on Friday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. versus the Windy City ThunderBolts (CEFCU Opening Night).

Besides the addition of two new teams in the independent Frontier League (London, Ontario and Schaumburg), the schedule boasts 48 regular season home games and the 2012 Frontier League All-Star Game presented by State Farm. All Sunday games will again begin at 5 p.m., and the first pitch for Monday-Saturday games will now be at 6:30 p.m. A day game is schedule for 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 and a double-header with the River City Rascals will be Sunday, July 29. The State Farm Home Run Derby will be Tuesday, July 10, and the All-Star Game is set for Wednesday, July 11.

"We are very excited to have our schedule this early in the off-season, "said CornBelters President Steve Malliet. "We have lots of new and exciting promotions and events planned for 2012, and we can't wait for fans to experience an All-Star Summer with us. We also hope that the slight change in game times will be more accommodating for young families."
