Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today the signing of defenseman Jon Landry. The 6-foot-3-inch, 220-pound blueliner has played in the AHL, the ECHL, the CHL and the DEL (Germany's top hockey league).
Along with good size, Landry brings great offensive abilities; in his 216 professional games he's registered 132 points (37-95-132) and 252 penalty minutes. In college, Landry played forward and was more than a point-per-game producer, accumulating 121 points (51-70-121) in 98 games over four seasons with Bowdoin College. His professional resume also boasts a CHL championship (Arizona) and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +36.
"Jon is a great addition to our defense," said Eagles assistant coach Greg Pankewicz. "He's extremely well-rounded and can be used in every situation. In addition to his offensive skills, his leadership and championship experience will make him a tremendous leader on our hockey club."
The Eagles will begin their preseason camp on Friday, Sept. 30. They will then travel to Alaska for preseason games on Oct. 4 & 5 before playing their only preseason game at the Budweiser Events Center on Friday, Oct. 7 against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
The 2011-12 ECHL regular season begins on Friday, Oct. 14, with the Eagles' home-opener taking place on Friday, Oct. 21. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
