HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Nine scoreless innings from five different hurlers lifted the BayBears to a 2-0 victory over the Huntsville Stars on Friday night at Joe Davis Stadium.

Jarrod Parker was schedule to only pitch three innings in his final appearance before the playoffs, and he was smooth as he faced the minimum nine batters while allowing just one hit and posting one strikeout.

Parker was placed with a couple early runs that the bullpen made hold up for the BayBears (83-54, 45-22) throughout the night. A.J. Pollock put the BayBears on the board with a solo home run in the first. Adam Eaton highlighted a 4-for-4 night by going deep in the third to make it a 2-0 contest against Michael Bowman (6-12).

Bryan Henry (7-4) replaced Parker and tossed a pair of scoreless frames while surrendering two hits. Evan Marshall took over in place of Henry in the sixth and worked a pair as well while coughing up a couple singles in his Double-A debut.

Kevin Munson let the Stars (64-72, 27-39) put a couple of baserunners in the eighth inning, but he wiggled out of trouble by striking out Sean Halton with a high fastball. Yonata Ortega (S, 1) overcame a two-out walk in the ninth inning to complete the BayBears' 10th shutout of the season.

The Second Half South Division Champion BayBears battle the Stars in the third of their five-game set at 6:43 from Joe Davis Stadium on Saturday night. Lefty Tyler Skaggs (4-1) starts for the BayBears against fellow left-hander Dan Merklinger (9-8).

The BayBears will host game three of the South Division Championship Series on Saturday, September 10 at 7:05 p.m. against the Birmingham Barons with fireworks after the contest and a 9/11 tribute before the ballgame.
