MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used the long ball to push past Iowa 8-7 on Guaranteed Win Night, Monday at AutoZone Park.

The I-Cubs jumped on starter Blaine Boyer early, plating at least one run in each of the first five innings for a 7-1 lead. Boyer allowed six of the seven runs on 10 hits over three innings of work. The right-hander was replaced by reliever Pete Parise in the fourth after walking the first batter he faced. Parise surrendered a home run to Jonathan Mota in the fifth for the last Cubs run on the night.

Shane Robinson sent one over the left field wall in the sixth for his first home run while two more Memphis players headed home in the eighth off an RBI-single by Tyler Greene and a sacrifice fly by Andrew Brown. Robinson stepped up to the plate again in the ninth with two outs and the bases loaded only to hit one into the bullpen and clear the bases for the win.

Redbirds reliever Jess Todd tossed a scoreless ninth inning for the win. Iowa reliever Scott Maine took the loss allowing four runs on two hits over 1/3 inning work.
