Legends Eliminated From Playoffs Following Tough Loss In Tulsa

Tulsa, OK - The Texas Legends 2010-11 season came to an end on Friday night, following a 104-89 loss to the Tulsa 66ers inside the Tulsa Convention Center, sending the 66ers to the second round of the NBA D-League Playoffs. Tulsa swept the best-of-3 series 2-0.

The 66ers outscored the Legends 18-7 over the first six minutes of the game to take an early 11-point lead. They would stretch their lead to 13 points going into the second quarter on top of Texas 32-19. The 66ers shot 59.1% in the opening period compared to the Legends 30.4% shooting performance.

Despite trailing by as many as 16 points and shooting 34.9% in the first half, the Legends went on a 14-4 run to finish the half down by just six, 49-43.

Joe Alexander led Texas with 12 points in the first half, while Elijah Millsap topped all scorers in the first half, knocking down 18 points for Tulsa.

After the Legends scored the first two points of the second half to cut the deficit to four, the 66ers went on a 10-0 run to take a comfortable 14-point lead. Tulsa would stretch their lead to 20 points in the third quarter, before taking a commanding 76-58 lead into the final period.

The 66ers would maintain a double-digit lead throughout the entire fourth quarter on their way to the second round of the playoffs.

While the Legends scored a season-low 83 points in the first game of the series, they shot just 36.8% in the game two loss.

Alexander (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Sean Williams (13 points, 14 rebounds) both earned double-doubles in the loss for Texas. Millsap led the way for Tulsa with 27 points in the 66ers victory.

While the loss marks the end of the season for Texas, the 66ers will now move on to the second round of the NBA D-League Playoffs and will take on the winner of the Iowa Energy versus Utah Flash series.
