Bisons Announce 2011 Promotional Schedule

Buffalo, N.Y., February 9, 2011 -The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, today announced their promotional calendar for the 2011 season. The team will once again provide the top sports and family entertainment and value in Western New York with an extensive list of special events, promotions and giveaways throughout the summer at Coca-Cola Field.

The Bisons will open their 126th season of professional baseball on Opening Day, presented by Subway, on Thursday, April 7 against the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca-Cola Field (3:05 p.m.). The team will also debut its BisonsTV HD board, the largest high-definition board in all of minor league baseball, on Opening Day, to add a new level of entertainment to each day or night at Coca-Cola Field.

Bisons Baseball Value Starts with Opening Day

The Bisons begin the season with a six-game homestand that starts with Opening Day, presented by Subway. Come to Coca-Cola Field on April 7 and also receive a team Magnetic Schedule Giveaway. From there, the team has scheduled several deep discount days in April to get fans geared up for the 2011 season. On Monday, April 11, the Bisons start their season-long Bargain Mondays, with $7 tickets and $1 Coca-Cola soft drinks and ice creams in the concession stands. The following day is first of nine KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, where fans can receive a buy-one, get-one free ticket at the box office with a Kraft wrapper. From April 19-21, the Bisons the Rochester Red Wings for Anderson's presents Kids Week. Each afternoon start will feature a $6 ticket, more concessions discounts and a Silly Bandz Giveaway, presented by Alfred State College.

The Best Night of the Week is always a fridaynightbash!(r)

Weekends in downtown Buffalo begin at the ballpark and 2011 will be no different with 12 fridaynightbash!(r) games scheduled this summer, presented by Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. The action begins just two games into the season on Friday, April 8 against the Syracuse Chiefs. When the season heats up, so does the Friday night schedule with five fridaynightbash!(r) games in a six-week span from June 24 - July 29. Of course, every fridaynightbash!(r) game comes complete with the team's award-winning post game Fireworks Show. Starting on May 27, you can come early for the Bisons Plaza Party, with discounted food and drink items and fun games and activities for both kids and adults. Great Live Music from local bands ranging from classic rock to modern pop will also accompany the Bisons' plaza parties.

New in 2011, on fridaynightbash!(r) starting in June, the Coca-Cola Field gates will be open a 6:00 p.m. (30 minutes earlier than ever before). Friday games will also feature the new post game Launch-a-Ball promotion, as fans test their aim to win great prizes. Themed fridaynightbash!(r) games will include Summerbash! (June 24), Women's Night, presented by WNY Breast Health (July 1), All-Star Game Celebration Kick-Off (July 15), BB McCoy Appearance (July 22), Hollywood Night (July 29) and Ghostbusters Night with Character Appearances (August 12).

The Key Independence Eve Celebration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus

No summer at the ballpark is complete without the great Key Independence Eve Celebration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus and the Largest Fireworks Show of the Year, presented by KeyBank. The 17th installment of this must-attend night at Coca-Cola Field will be on Sunday, July 3 against the Syracuse Chiefs (6:05 p.m.) Over 300,000 fans have taken in this great Western New York summer tradition since 1995.

Youth Pinstripe Jersey, "The Aud" Replica Highlight Giveaway Schedule

Great giveaways have become staples to any Bisons promotional schedule and the tradition continues in 2011. One of the most sought-after items is the Bisons' Buffalo Landmark Replica series, which will feature "The Aud" on July 23, presented by Hamburg Overhead Door and LiftMaster. For the third consecutive year, the team features a Youth Pinstripe Jersey Giveaway on July 14, presented by AXA Advisors. A Stars & Stripes Cap Giveaway, presented by Canisius College, is scheduled for July 2 and the team's annual Bobble Head Giveaway, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts, is on tap for August 18. Back by popular demand, the Bisons have also scheduled The 2nd Annual Great Gift Shop Giveaway Night, presented by Uncle Bob's Self Storage, on August 10 where everyone in attendance will receive something from the team's Batter's Box Gift Shop. Festival Nights Return in 2011

The Bisons will continue their festival night series throughout the summer. Come out and celebrate your heritage on Irish Night (Tuesday, June 28), Italian Night (Tuesday, July 26) and Polish Night (Tuesday, August 16). Come to the ballpark early and enjoy all of your favorite ethnic food, music and entertainment at a pre-game Tent Party and throughout the game. Each festival night will end with an in-park Pyrotechnics Show, presented by UNYTS. The Bisons have also scheduled a Hispanic Heritage Night (Saturday, May 28), that will feature a pre-game tent party and a post game Concert, presented by UNYTS.

The Night Doesn't End until the Last Firework

The Bisons have scheduled 20 fireworks or pyrotechnics in 2011. Along with the 12 fridaynightbash!(r) parties and three Festival Night events already on the schedule, the team has also added a fireworks show on Star Wars Night, presented by Alfred State College (June 11), and a pyrotechnic display on Military Appreciation Night (Flag Day, June 14). Sunday Night Baseball with the team's annual Home Run Derby, presented by Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, will also feature fireworks (August 28). Of course, the biggest and most impressive shows will be on the WNY traditions: the Key Independence Eve Celebration (July 3) and Fan Appreciation Night (Sept. 2).

Coca-Cola Field is a Great Place to Meet Some Old and New Friends

Special Guests will once again entertain fans at Coca-Cola Field all season long. The most famous ballpark visitor, The Famous Chicken, returns to Buffalo on Thursday, July 28. Coca-Cola Field will also serve as the battlefield for the team's annual Star Wars Night with Character Appearances on Saturday, June 11, presented by Alfred State College. Get ready for some inflatable fun as The ZOOperstars! return to Buffalo on Saturday, June 25. The great children of Western New York will rule the park on School Kids Day, presented by New York's 529 College Savings Program and Alfred State College, at 10:35 a.m. on Thursday, June 9. Don't forget to bring your best friend to Dog Day at the Ballpark, June 26, with the SPCA of Erie County and City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.

Mystery Ball, Home Run Derby, Dollar Dog Night Complete Events Calendar

The Bisons will also feature several special events throughout the 2011 season. Get your fill of $1 Hot Dogs on Monday, May 23. First Responders Night (100 Club of Buffalo), presented by FM Communications Inc. and Kenwood, pays tribute to all our brave local emergency service workers on May 26 while Western New York United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse will hold their annual Family Fun Day at Coca-Cola Field on Sunday, May 29. There are also two Time Warner Cable Customer Appreciation Days scheduled, May 22 and June 30. The Bisons Family Campout Night, presented by Tim Horton's, is scheduled for Friday, July 15.

One of the team's fastest growing events, the 3rd Annual Mystery Ball Night is scheduled for Saturday, August 13. This year, the sale of all gift-wrapped autographed baseballs will benefit the Hunter's Hope Foundation. The team's annual Home Run Derby will be held on Sunday, August 28.

The Bisons have also scheduled a Family Fun Sunday for the afternoon Sunday games throughout the 2011 season. Those games will feature Kids Run the Bases after the Bisons' contests, presented by Tim Hortons.
