Stampede Acquire Cedric Jackson

BOISE, Idaho, December 29, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede announced today the acquisition of Cedric Jackson from the Erie BayHawks in a trade for a first-round draft pick in the 2011 NBA Development League Draft.

Jackson (6-3, 190, Cleveland State) has played 14 games (14 starts) for Erie this season, averaging 12.1 points, 6.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. Jackson played 12 games in the NBA in 2009-10 with Washington, San Antonio and Cleveland, averaging 1.7 points and 1.2 assists per game.

In his D-League career, Jackson has appeared in 48 games (38 starts), averaging 15.1 points, 7.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.

Born March 5, 1986, the Columbus, N.J. native played his first two seasons of college basketball at St. John's before transferring to Cleveland State and finishing his senior season in 2008-09 averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.0 steals per game in 37 games. His junior year, Jackson led the team in points (13.9), rebounds (4.9), assists (4.9) and steals (2.61).

To make roster space for Jackson (who will wear jersey No. 4) the Stampede waived Dontell Jefferson due to injury.
