
Norris, Mills Headline Astros Luncheon

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Starting pitcher Bud Norris, manager Brad Mills and Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton are scheduled on the Astros Winter Caravan visit to Corpus Christi on Friday, January 21.
Tickets to the annual luncheon are $25 and may be purchased at the Whataburger Field box office during normal business hours or by calling 361-561-HOOK. Tickets are $35 at the door.
Norris, in his first full season with the Astros, made 27 starts and went 9-10 with a 4.92 ERA in 2010. He finished third on the club with 158 strikeouts over 153.2 innings and ranked first with 9.25 strikeouts per nine innings. Over his final 13 starts of the season, Norris was a sharp 7-3 with a 3.84 ERA.
Norris, Corpus Christi's Pitcher of the Year in 2008, set a Minute Maid Park record and personal career best when he struck out 14 batters over seven innings in a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh on August 14. In portions of two seasons with Houston, Norris is 15-13 with a 4.82 ERA, posting 212 strikeouts in 209.1 innings.
Mills completed his first season as a Major League manager, guiding Houston to a 76-86 record and fourth-place finish in the National League Central. The Astros turned in a strong second half under Mills, going 40-33 after the All-Star break. This coming season is the 13th for Mills as a coach or manager in the big leagues.
Hamilton has been a broadcaster for 65 seasons, including 57 years in the Major Leagues. In addition to his 26 seasons as the voice of the Astros, Hamilton has also called games for the Cardinals, Cubs, White Sox, Braves and Pirates. He received the Ford Frick Award in 1992 from the Baseball Hall of Fame, and is one of 11 baseball broadcasters in the Radio Hall of Fame.
The January 21 event gets underway at 11:30 a.m. at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center.
