
Energy Beat Dakota 111-103 to Remain Unbeaten

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Energy defeated the Dakota Wizards 111-103 Monday night to "sweep" the three-game series. Center Courtney Sims, named NBA D-League Player of the Week earlier in the day, had another big game for the winners as he finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Iowa jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the 1st quarter as Sims scored seven points in the first 4:30 of the game. Dakota responded as a Brandon Johnson 3-pointer closed the quarter to cut the Energy lead to 26-23.
The Energy outscored the visitors 27-14 in the 2nd quarter to take a commanding 53-37 lead at the halftime break. Iowa remained in control throughout the second half. Dakota cut the lead to six with 0:44 left in the game, but a Shyron Ely 3-pointer from the corner put the game away for Iowa.
Guard Curtis Stinson added 20 points and 13 assists for Iowa, while guard Kyle Weaver scored 22 points on the night.
Renaldo Major scored 28 points for Dakota while Chris Johnson added 23 points and 9 rebounds.
