(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced the acquisition of right defenseman Jake Cardwell from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for left defenseman/forward Ryan Hanes and 2 draft picks (2nd and 7th rounds in 2011) .
At 6'2" and 198 lbs., Cardwell, is a physical player. Both players are 18 years old.
"Both Chris (Head Coach/AGM Chris Byrne) and I like the way Cardwell plays and we're looking forward to seeing him in our lineup," said 67's General Manager Brian Kilrea. "It's also a good opportunity for Ryan because he was hoping to play exclusively on defense and he'll get a chance to do that in Sudbury."
