Energy Announce D-League Draft Party Details

Des Moines, IA. (Oct. 21, 2010) - On Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, the Iowa Energy will host their annual NBA Development League Draft party at Court Avenue Brewing Co. (309 Court Avenue). The draft will begin at 6 PM CST. The Energy will select their players live at the party via teleconference with the NBA.

Energy coaches, owners, staff and the Energy's High Voltage Dance team will be onsite and prizes including merchandise, autographed gear, and VIP game experiences will be given away throughout the evening. Food and drink specials will be available beginning at 4 PM. Fans of all ages are welcome to attend.

The Iowa Energy will be selecting 6th in the First Round. The draft is "serpentine" or "snaked" which means the order will be reversed in each of the eight rounds. For example, The Reno Bighorns will select first and then their next selection will be 32nd overall. The Idaho Stampede will select last in the first round, but has the first selection position in the second round.

Following The Reno Bighorns in the serpentine selection process, the selection process will be in the following order: New Mexico Thunderbirds, Maine Red Claws, Texas Legends, Springfield Armor, The Iowa Energy, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Utah Flash, Dakota Wizards, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Bakersfield Jam, Tulsa 66ers, Austin Toros, Erie BayHawks and Idaho Stampede.

Each of the NBA D-League's 16 teams will be given one pick in each round. No trades will be permitted during the draft and only players signed to an NBA D-League Standard Player Contract are eligible to be selected.

Iowa Energy season tickets and are now on sale for the 2010-11 season. Single game tickets will go on sale November 2nd.
