Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Calgary Stampeders will play host to the BC Lions on Saturday, Sept. 25. The game is presented by the Canadian Cancer Society and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at McMahon Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to wear red to the game and pack Our House - McMahon Stadium - as Calgary looks to extend its 11-game home-unbeaten streak. The Stamps are 5-0 at Our House this season and are 18-4-1 at home under head coach and general manager John Hufnagel.

The Stamps and Lions are squaring off for the third of four meetings this season. Calgary took the previous two contests with BC, both at Empire Field in Vancouver, including a 27-22 victory on Aug. 7 and a 48-35 win on Aug. 27. The Stamps will host the Lions again on Oct. 22. Calgary has won eight consecutive regular-season meetings with BC including three straight at McMahon.

The Stamps remain in first place in the West Division at 9-2 despite a 43-37 overtime loss to Saskatchewan last week in Regina. The Leos are 3-8 following a 34-31 loss to Hamilton in Vancouver last weekend.

For the third consecutive season, the Stamps and the Canadian Cancer Society are proud to present PinkPower. Prior to the game, volunteers will be selling newly created, limited-edition pink toques and scarves at entrance gates for a minimum donation of $20, with all proceeds going directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. "Thing-a-ma-boob" key chains will also be available for $5.

For those who don't have tickets yet, great seats for the game are still available by contacting the Stampeders' Ticket Office (403-289-0258 or toll free at 1-800-667-3267), Ticketmaster (403-777-0000 or online at Ticketmaster.ca) or by visiting any local Safeway or SportChek location.

Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats during halftime for the Western quarterfinal of the Wendy's Kick For A Million contest. Hosted by TSN's Jermain Franklin, two randomly chosen Western regional winners take to the field and go head-to-head to determine who moves on to the semifinal on Oct. 8. The winner will get the opportunity to kick for a million dollars on Oct. 14 during halftime of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts game.

Following the Kick for a Million contest, the Stampeders will honour running back Joffrey Reynolds, who became the club's all-time leading rusher on Sept. 10 in Edmonton.

Fans are reminded to purchase their 2011 Stampeder Outriders calendar, presented by Wiser's Whiskey. The calendars will be sold for $10 throughout the game at remaining Stamps home dates.

The weekly StampsConnect contest series is back for this game. One lucky Stamps fan will win a SIRIUS Starmate 5 Plug-and-Play satellite radio with six months of free service for posting their Stamps-related photos on StampsConnect. Visit www.stampsconnect.com for more details.
