
Dream Advances to WNBA Finals

ATLANTA, September 9, 2010 - The Atlanta Dream will take on the Seattle Storm in the 2010 WNBA Finals, tipping off on September 12. The Dream will host Game 3 at Philips Arena on September 16 in the best-of-five series.
The Storm earned home court advantage throughout the playoffs and will host Games 1 and 2 in Seattle. Game 1 is Sunday, September 12 at 3 pm ET and Game 2 is Tuesday, September 14 at 9 pm ET. The series will shift to Atlanta for Game 3 on Thursday, September 16 at 8 pm ET at Philips Arena. If necessary, Game 4 will be played at Gwinnett Arena on Sunday, September 19 at 3 pm ET, and Game 5 will be on Tuesday, September 21 at 9 pm ET in Seattle. Game 1 will be televised on ABC with the remaining games slated for ESPN2.
Both the Dream and the Storm went undefeated in the first two rounds of the playoffs en route to the conference title. The Dream was the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta swept the No. 1 seed, the Washington Mystics, and the No. 2 seed, the New York Liberty, to advance to the 2010 WNBA Finals. The Storm entered the playoffs as the No. 1 overall seed. Seattle swept the Los Angeles Sparks in the conference semifinals and the Phoenix Mercury in the conference finals.
The Dream continues to make history in the franchise's third season, making its first WNBA Finals appearance. Atlanta is vying to become the first No. 4 seed in history to win a WNBA championship. The Dream finished the regular season 19-15, led by second-year forward Angel McCoughtry. McCoughtry set a WNBA playoff record with 42 points against New York in Game 2 to lead the Dream to the Eastern Conference title.
The Storm posted a league-best 28-6 regular season record behind league MVP Lauren Jackson. Seattle won both regular season matchups between the two teams.
