
Rock Cats Fall to Close out Season

New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - Austin Romine and Marcos Vechionacci both homered to lead Trenton to a 5-2 victory over the Rock Cats before a sellout crowd of 6,208 on the final day of the 2010 regular season. It was the 21st capacity-filled crowd at New Britain Stadium this season.
Romine and Vechionacci each finished with two hits apiece as the Thunder pounded out 11 hits on the day.
Romine put the Thunder on the board with a solo shot to left center field to lead off the second inning. In the fourth, Daniel Brewer opened the inning with a double and scored on a double by Romine before Vechionacci hammered a pitch over the center field wall for a 4-0 lead.
Corban Joseph added an RBI triple for the Thunder in the seventh. Evan Bigley homered for the Rock Cats in the bottom of the ninth.
Andrew Brackman (5-7) hurled five shutout innings, limiting the Rock Cats to two hits. He struck out three.
Tyler Robertson (4-13) allowed eight hits and four runs in six innings.
