
Atlanta Dream's McCoughtry, Lyttle Earn All-Defensive Honors

ATLANTA, August 29, 2010 - Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry has been named to the 2010 WNBA All-Defensive Team. Teammate Sancho Lyttle earned WNBA All-Defensive Second Team honors for the second straight year.
McCoughtry, a 6-1 forward, finished second in voting behind Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings, the 2010 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. Catchings collected 22 votes, earning the award for the fourth time in her WNBA career. McCoughtry finished with 18 points in the voting.
McCoughtry earns her first All-Defensive Team appearance after being selected to the All-Defensive Second Team in 2009 as a rookie. She ranked third in the WNBA with 1.94 steals per game and added 0.62 blocks per game.
Lyttle, a 6-4 forward, earns her second consecutive All-Defensive Second Team honor. She ranked third in the WNBA in rebounds, averaging 9.9 per game, and fourth in steals with 1.72 per game. Lyttle also averaged 0.63 blocks.
A panel of the WNBA's 12 head coaches voted on the WNBA All-Defensive Team, selecting First and Second Teams by position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team. Players earned two points for each First Team vote and one point for a Second Team vote.

The Dream swept the Washington Mystics, the No. 1 seed, to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Atlanta will play the winner of the Indiana-New York series (New York leads 1-0).
